Midnight snack in Taipei

Even though it was nearly past midnight and we weren’t hungry, just could not resist to start our food adventure. A lot of shops were already closed but we walk down this lane (林士北路) near the hotel and was greeted by the aromas of food and the bustling of people and cabs squeezing down the extremely narrow lane.

Even though I saw a number of stores selling my favourite drink (bubble tea!), that would have been too much of a calorie bomb at that time at night. We eventually settled on a restaurant as the shop lady started talking to us and I was intrigued by the huge pot that was being used for cooking on display.

The food was generally subtle in flavours yet still bringing out the freshness and natural taste of the food. Good honest simple food!
