Flat peaches?

I love peaches. Sweet and juicy, perfect all year round to savour. My eyes were caught when I was at a fruit stall and saw some peaches, but they were flat! Think normal round peaches that have been squashed.

I have never seen those before couldn’t resist buying some to try. These are much tougher and less delicate to its more prominent sisters. Biting into it, they are crunchy, it’s like a cross between an apple and a peach, having the texture of an apple but the taste of peaches.

Yum!

Regents Park honey

Look what I bought today? It took my entire lunch hour to head to a store that sells it but is it worth it?

After a whirlwind 3 month’s work trip away and starting a new job when returning to London. It’s good to finally be able to spend a bit more time here. And also to start chipping away at that big mountain of ‘to be blog’ food posts!

I was extremely intrigued when an email came through mentioning about Regents Park honey. Being in London, I did not think that finding local honey will be an easy feat. Apparently for hay fever sufferers, taking some honey from your local area will help. I don’t actually suffer from hay fever but still want to try the honey for the taste.

Depending on the season and year, you can taste different flowers and fruits due to the diversity of plants in Regents Park!

Quite excited, will write up the post when I actually tasted it.

Newton Food Court - Singapore

On a recent trip to Singapore, My lovely friends brought me to Newtown food court.

Fried Radish Cake

The radish cake was standard and the taste was ever so slightly on the bland side.

Kangkung Belacan

The kangkung was cooked just right, there was still a nice crunch to the kangkung and the fiery sensation of the belacan running in the mouth only makes you want to eat more.

Ikan Bakar

This store gives a generous portion of the stingray.

Satay

The satay took quite some time to come. The meat was barbequed well and it has that smokiness to the meat. Peanut sauce is ok, have had better ones.

My Tokyo Sandwich Series

During my Tokyo trip, I was introduced to this sandwiches where are really cheap and economical when you need to rush around travelling from one place to another and have no time to have a meal. These sandwiches really intrigued me as their packaging has a cute picture which shows what is meant to be inside the sandwiches.

It was just sooo cute and I got hooked trying to find as many flavours as I can in the convenience stores. Yummy...yummy!!

Can you guess what some of the flavours are?

This is egg!

Noodles!

Strawberries & Cream

Maple syrup

Brassarie Lion Ginza

Our first meal in Tokyo upon arriving. As it was quite late, the sushi restaurant that we initially wanted to go to has closed their kitchen. So we ended up trying out this one.

TB ordered a crispy noodle dish with seafood and I ordered a scallop salad.

The array of colours was a welcoming sight after the mini adventure we had looking for the hotel. The salad was really crisp and refreshing while the crispy noodle dish wasn’t what we expected.

It was still a good meal considering that there weren’t many other restaurants that were open by that time.

After eating, we started shopping of course!
